Anytime you select a point symbol as part of adding data, importing a text file, or assigning point result symbol properties, you can add your own images to serve as billboarded symbols. The symbols are added to your personal style set named "My.ServerStyle", stored in your Document and Settings Styles folder. Note that this functionality is not enabled for lines and polygons. The image can be in PNG, BMP, or JPG format, and stored in a local file on disk, a file on a file server, or it be a URL. If a PNG file has transparency it is maintained. When you save the map you are working on (NMF file) the original location of the symbol is saved in the map. If another user opens the map, if required, the image will be loaded into their personal style set ready for use. You can select multiple images at one time to bulk load them into your personal style set.
